Positive Atheist Action
President of AHA on Alan Colmes Radio Show
David Niose, President of the AHA (American Humanist Association), was a guest on the Alan Colmes radio show with the Executive Director of the Traditional Values Coalition. David did a wonderful job representing and defending those of us who proudly call ourselves nontheists. Here’s an audio clip:

John Travolta is bringing aid and Scientology to Haiti
Can help go to far?
The people of Haiti need our help. No question about it. I personally don’t care if the help comes from atheists, Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc. But how are we supposed to handle this situation?
From WENN.com:
John Travolta is using his air miles to help the Haiti relief effort by planning a mercy mission [...]
Dutch tulip named in honor of Ayaan Hirsi Ali
On November 4th a ceremony was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art honoring the beautiful Ayaan Hirsi Ali. During the event, a tulip was named “Ayaan” in recognition of her human rights stance for Muslim women.

Thank you, President Obama!
In today’s radio address, President Obama spoke of the Ft. Hood tragedy. While doing so, he made reference to the great diversity of the American military by saying … “They are Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus and nonbelievers.”
I join with my friend Ed Buckner, President of American Atheists, in publicly thanking President Obama for our inclusion.
From Ed Buckner’s [...]

Are atheist ads offensive?
What type of alternate reality do I live in?
I am one of those nontheists who doesn’t believe all religious people are crazy. In fact, I am often criticized by my atheist brothers and sisters for being to lenient on believers. However, even I can’t understand how anyone can be offended by the recent atheist billboards. They [...]
Can we be good without a god?
A couple of weeks ago I was a guest on Fox news radio’s Colonel Ray Show. The entire focus of the show was where humans get their morals. This argument is nothing new for we nonbelievers. We hear it repeatedly. The show host was a little upset with me when I asked him, “Do you really believe [...]
You broke it, you bought it
I have been inspired and haunted by a quote I read this morning.
“Having leveled my palace, don’t erect a hovel and complacently admire your own charity in giving me that for a home.”
– Emily Bronte (1818-1848)
As President Bush was contemplating the invasion of Iraq, Colin Powell said to him, “If you break it, you bought [...]
Support the Foundation Beyond Belief
If, like me, you are tired of nontheist organizations doing nothing other than filing lawsuits and releasing statements to the press, you should consider donating to the new nonprofit organization: Foundation Beyond Belief. Its founder, and Executive Director, is parenting guru, and fellow Atlantan, Dale McGowan.
The Foundation goal is to highlight ten charitable organizations four times [...]
