Video: Swine flu with a side of bacon
Could it be that Bill Maher is just as crazy as some religious people? It seems that Seventh-day Adventists, Jews, Muslims, and Bill Maher may all be avoiding the swine flu vaccination for equally valid reasons. (By the way, you should check out this open letter Michael Shermer wrote to Bill Maher.)
Dallas/Fort Worth’s Fox 35 news has reported, and it has been confirmed by the CDC, that the H1N1 swine flu mist and shot contains an ingredient called hydrolyzed porcine gelatin. This, my dear brothers and sisters, is a pork by-product.

The reporters for the story also spoke with a Rabbi David Kay and someone with the Florida conference of Seventh-day Adventists. They both said the swine flu shot should not be a problem because it is injected and not swallowed. Now I am not Jewish, but I do know something about the Old Testament. I don’t recall reading any loopholes in the dietary laws. Rabbi Kay did acknowledge that there could be a problem with taking the flu mist because some of it might drop down the back of your throat and end up being consumed. Wow! Old Jehovah sure can be sneaky.
Mysteriously, there were no Imans quoted in the article. So, being the great reporter I am, I searched for my own response. Unfortunatley, the only quote I could get was, “Durka Durka Mohammed Jihad!“
The report concludes with saying that regardless to the justifications given by the religious representative, it is inevitable that some individuals will avoid being inoculated based on religious objections.
