Howard Stern discusses Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort
Are you ready for a big shocker? Apparently, Ray Comfort (AKA: the Banana Man), is not a big fan of Howard Stern. I know, huge surprise right? You would think Stern and Comfort are BFFs.
In a blog post labeled, Mr. Shock Jock, Comfort told of his horrible experience listening to Stern earlier this week:
I subjected myself to about 20 minutes of listening to Howard Stern recently, as he let off steam about the Origin of Species into schools giveaway. I can certainly understand why he is called a shock-jock. Wow! I was really shocked to hear how professionally uninformed he was.
In a mere 20 minutes he managed to mess up American history twice, on Kirk Cameron’s age (he kept calling him a “kid,” when Kirk has six kids himself, and is nearly 40 years old). Mr. Stern had no idea that Kirk’s last movie was a box office smash, bringing in more than 34 million dollars. He was confused as to why we are giving the books to students.
Add to that, that he surmised that he was a good person, despite the fact that his vocabulary came directly from the walls of a public restroom. Of course, Howard isn't a good person; he’s just like the rest of us. His dirty mouth revealed his dirty heart.
So it’s my earnest prayer that Mr. Stern finds a place of genuine repentance and faith in Jesus, so that God can cleanse his dirty heart as He did mine, before the Day of Judgment.
Imagine that–Howard Stern a Christian! Now that would be a real shock.
Now, I’m not ashamed to tell you that I listen to Howard Stern on a regular basis. So, I heard (and quite enjoyed) the show segment that was mostly about Comfort’s co-host, Kirk Cameron. The planned distribution of the doctored Origin of Species book, was only a small part.
For your listening pleasure, here’s the three part recording of the show discussion. I shouldn’t have to warn you, but just in case you’re not familiar with Howard Stern, his show is definitely NSFW. (All three videos should play consecutively.)
Man, I co-host an atheist podcast, and I don’t have the balls to say things the way Howard Stern does. I guess that’s why he is the King of All Media.

I'll have to listen to the videos when Little Man is at school, but I'm already laughing at Banana Man's response. Kirk Cameron *is* a kid, even if he's 40. He thinks like I did during Freshman biology, in that wisdom inherent to all teenagers, that he is more clever than all the adults (scientists) in the room. What a dolt.
Actual earnings according to wikipedia of Fireproof: $33,456,317. Actual earnings according to wikipedia of Transformers, $37.3 million…. in China. Box office smash my ass. And when the last time a guy was really A List was when he was 18, I think it's okay to call him a kid. If those are Ray's best objections to half an hour of mocking this crap, then I think Stern did a pretty good job trashing em. And really, Ray? "He has a dirty mouth, so he's not a good person"?
Oh, for a little more reference, the 1000th highest grossing movie of all time was Goldfinger, in 1964, which grossed $51,100,000 in the box office.
"I was really shocked to hear how professionally uninformed he was."
So now Comfort is Banana Man and Mr. Pot of "The pot calling the kettle black" fame.
The success of a movie is usually relevant to it's production costs, which were $500,000. It was the highest grossing independent film of 2008 and as correctly stated above, pulled in approx. 33.5 million. I'd say that is a success. Also Ray is saying no one, not even himself, is a good man. The first part of the quote is relevant but I wanted to complete it. "for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace that comes by the redemption of Christ Jesus", Romans 3 NIV. Try it you'll like it.
